Product description
Gyokuro is Japanese green tea’s crown jewel. Sheltered from the sun with black curtains, bamboo, and straw to enhance the chlorophyll content and lower the level of tannins, this tea variety features very dark green leaves. Much sweeter and not bitter in the least, this light-yellow brew is best enjoyed in a traditional Japanese Kyushu pot. But whichever the medium, it’s bound to produce a very satisfying cuppa.
Taste
Much more flavoursome than your typical green tea, Gyokuro is a real delight. Light-bodied, sweet, and very fragrant, it has all the makings of a luxurious brew. The dark green leaves yield smooth, floral, and subtly zesty flavours that whirl in eddies, like a tango of taste. Sip it and let those subtle vegetative notes sink in before you sweeten it or spice it up with your favourite flavour enhancers. Low on caffeine, it’s a tea enjoyed best in the evening, either in its purest form or with herbs and spices to taste.
Caffeine Level
With only 20mg per cup, this refreshing green tea has a moderate level of caffeine.
